Kachayam is a popular and traditional sweet recipe from Tamilnadu. It is very simple, easy to make and delectable to eat. When you have ripe bananas, this is the perfect recipe to make. This is a perfect tea time snack. Whenever i make this recipe it brings me back my childhood memories. When i was kid, we grand children hit our grandma's place for every summer vacation. Every year for us summer vacation is the time to enjoy and have fun. Grandpa's stories, the green farm, tall coconut trees, cow's, buffaloes at the backyard, little vegetable garden, very big scary well and grandma's food....reminds my childhood....those were magical moments. My grandma used to make this sweet for us and we kids run into the kitchen now and then and have them hot from the skillet. Those were beautiful days, eventhough its gone they are still fresh in our minds and their presence is always in our thoughts.

This chocolate chip cookie is my favourite one and i make this quite often. These cookies are rich, soft and chewy inside and crispy on outside. These are made with butter, both brown and white sugar, flour, egg and chocolate chips.I have added a light spicy touch to the regular chocolate chips cookies by adding cinnamon to it. These are easy to make and a perfect treat for everyone. Enjoy these cookies with a glass of cold milk.
Just made these cookies specially for my neighbour's cute little daughter Nithu, who is a chocolate cookie lover. Once i gave her some chocolate cookies, since then whenever she want some cookies, she comes to me and ask 'Aunty bake some cookies for me' and that too she love to have chocolate in it. I baked these cookies for her and her friends and everyone enjoyed and when asked for some photos to click, they were happy and they gave cute pose with cookies to click.

It’s not without reason that the phrase goes ‘ Breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and supper like a pauper’. One should not skip the breakfast and make sure it is the heaviest meal of the day. In India we have a long list of traditional, freshly made breakfast recipes. And one of my favourite is Poori and Potato Masala, next to Idli and Vada with Sambhar and chutney. I have to make sure for my hubby there is Poori Masal in weekends. Here is the recipe for great beginnings.....

Sambar is one of the popular south indian recipe. The sambar recipe is prepared almost everday in most of the kitchens in Tamilnadu. It is made up of using toor dal and vegetables. You can use any vegetables like drumstick, potato, brinjal, chow chow, raddish, ladiesfinger etc..... And now we are in the season of mangoes i have used mangoes in sambar along with drumsticks. These two makes a very great combo. Relish this sambar with plain white rice, idlis, dosas.
