Mushroom 65 is a simple, quick, and easy starter recipe. It can be served as a tea time snack also. The recipe is very simple - the mushrooms are coated in a spiced batter and deep-fried until crisp.
- Button Mushroom - 200 gms
- Bengal gram flour - 1 tbsp
- Maida flour - 2 tbsp
- Corn flour - 1 tbsp
- Red Chili powder - 2 tsp
- Coriander powder - 1 tsp
- Garam masala - ½ tsp
- Ginger Garlic paste - 1 tsp
- Lemon juice - ½ tbsp
- Salt as required
- Oil for deep frying
Method:
- First, wash the mushrooms under the tap water. Use a paper napkin and wipe off the remaining dirt from the mushrooms. Cut into half if the mushrooms are big or leave it as such if it is small.
- Take a large wide bowl, add the flours, spice powders, ginger garlic paste, salt, and lemon juice.
- Add water little by little and make a thick batter. First, start by adding 1 tbsp of water and add more as needed.
- Add the mushrooms and mix well. Make sure that the batter completely coats well with the mushroom. Then add some curry leaves and coriander leaves and mix well. Let it sit for 5 mins.
- Meanwhile, heat oil in a kadai / wok for deep frying. Once the oil is hot, drop the mushrooms in hot oil one by one and fry the mushrooms in medium flame in batches until crisp and done. Once done transfer to a paper napkin and serve hot.
