Cheese Paratha with whole wheat flour | Cheese stuffed Paratha | Simple and Yummy Recipes

Cheese Paratha - it is an easy and simple recipe to make. It is an all-time favorite recipe for cheese lovers ( like me 😊), especially kids. It is a perfect dish to pack for your kid's lunch box. make this cheese paratha with whole wheat flour for breakfast or quick dinner along with some yogurt and pickle.

All you need is some processed cheese cubes, wheat flour, green chilies, garam masala and you are good to go. But you can also use other cheese like mozzarella cheese etc....

Preparation time: 15 mins
Resting time: 30 mins
Cooking time: 10 mins
Serves: 2 person

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup Whole Wheat Flour
  • Salt to taste
  • enough water for kneading dough
Cheese stuffing ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 cup grated Cheese (I used Amul cheese cubes )
  • 1 Green chilly, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Garam masala
  • pinch of Salt
Method:
  • In a wide bowl mix together wheat flour and salt. Add water little by little and knead to form a smooth and soft dough. Cover it and let it rest for 30 mins.
  • To make the filling, place the grated cheese in a bowl, add green chilly, garam masala and salt. Gently mix it and keep aside.
  • Pinch a portion of the dough and make a medium-sized ball. Roll the portion of the dough into a small circle using flour for rolling.
  • Put a portion of cheese stuffing in the center of the dough. 
  • Bring together all the sides to the center and seal tightly.
  • Roll again into a circle using wheat flour by placing the sealed side down. Roll it gently so that stuffing doesn't come out.
  • Heat a Tawa and smear some oil. Place the paratha and add few drops of oil on it cook for a minute on medium heat and then flip over apply oil on the other side as well cook the paratha on medium heat till both sides have golden brown spots on them Repeat with the remaining dough. Serve hot.

Ingredients for making chappathi / paratha Dough
  • 1 cup Wheat flour
  • 1 tsp Oil
  • Salt
  • Water
Chappathi Dough Making
  • Place the wheat flour, oil and salt in a large bowl.
  • Knead into a soft dough by using enough water
  • Cover and leave the dough for 20 minutes.
  • Divide the dough into equal balls
Ingredients for Egg Mixture
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 Onion, small-sized, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped Tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped Capsicum ( optional )
  • 1 small finely chopped Green Chilly
  • 1/4 tsp Pepper Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped Coriander Leaves
  • Salt to taste
Preparation:
  • Place all in the ingredients mentioned above in a deep bowl.
  • Beat the egg mixture until frothy and keep aside.
Making Egg Paratha
  • Roll a ball of dough into round even layer with the help of rolling pin by dusting some wheat flour.
  • Heat a tawa / dosa pan until hot enough.
  • Smear some 1 tsp oil on the tawa and place the paratha and let it cook for 30 seconds on both sides.
  • Take a ladleful of egg mixture and pour over the paratha and spread the mixture evenly over the paratha with the help of the spoon.
  • Smear some oil around the paratha and cook for 1 minute.
  • Gently flip the paratha, smear some oil again  and cook for another one minute.
  • Once it is done, serve hot with your favourite chutney/ gravy or pickle.

Ragi Roti

Today I'm going to share a very easy recipe and my version of making ragi roti. Yes, it's very quick, and a very simple recipe and very very easy to make roti. It's a perfect breakfast recipe and its healthy too.

Ragi Roti


Ingredients :
  • 1 cup Ragi flour
  • 1 large Onion, finely chopped
  • 3 Green chilies, finely chopped
  • 2 handful of chopped Coriander leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for smearing on Roti
Method:
  • In a large bowl mix all the ingredients except oil.
  • Add 1 to 2 cups of water and mix well.
  • The consistency should be very thick and slightly pourable.  ( i don't form a dough or balls out of ragi flour. Instead, I make thick consistency )
  • Heat a tawa / dosa pan. When hot add 1 ladle of thick batter on tawa and spread with hand to a round shape. Be careful of your fingers while making this.
  • Smear 1/2 tsp oil around the roti and cook in a low medium flame. Flip the roti and cook on the other side as well and also smear 1/4 tsp oil around the roti.
  • Serve hot with coconut chutney.

Aloo Stuffed Bajra Paratha

I always try to incorporate millets into my diet. They are healthy and nutritious  So in today's recipe I have used bajra flour (pearl millet flour/ Kambu maavu in tamil) along with whole wheat flour and made stuffed parathas. I have used potatoes for the stuffing, instead, you can use radish, broccoli etc. as you wish. Serve this paratha with onion raitha or with your favorite gravy.
Aloo Stuffed Bajra Paratha

Makes 12 medium-sized parathas
Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup of Bajra Flour
  • 1 1/2 cups of Wheat Flour
  • Water to knead the dough
  • Salt to taste
For the Filling
  • 2 Potatoes, cooked and mashed
  • 1 Onion, medium-sized, finely chopped
  • 1 Green Chilly, finely chopped
  • 1/4 tsp Red Chilly Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Cumin powder
  • Few Coriander leaves, finely chopped
  • Salt to taste
Method
  1. In a bowl mix all the ingredients for the stuffing and keep aside.
  2. Mix the Bajra flour, wheat flour, and salt in another bowl. Add the water gradually and knead into a soft dough. Cover and keep aside for 15 minutes.
  3. Flatten a ball of dough and roll it. Place a small portion(say lemon-sized) of the stuffing at the center, bring the edges towards the center and roll the dough gently by dusting the flour.
  4. Heat the tawa, place the paratha, grease some oil and cook on both sides. Repeat with the remaining dough. Serve with your favorite gravy, raitha, etc...

Mint Roti

Ingredients
Wheat Flour - 2 cups
Mint Leaves - 1 cup
Salt to taste
Ghee or oil for cooking

Method
  • Dry roast the mint leaves on hot tava till it becomes crispy and then crush it.
  • Combine flour, mint leaves and salt using water and make a soft dough.
  • Divide the dough into equal portions and roll out the dough.
  • Cook on hot tava on both sides using ghee or oil.
  • Serve hot with your favorite gravy.

Kothu Chapathi (From Leftover Chapathi)


Whenever we make chapathi, most of the times we have 2 or 3 leftover chapathis. It happens very commonly in Indian household. So today i'm going to share a recipe for leftover chapathis. It is called kothu chapathi. It can be served either as a breakfast or pack for kid lunch boxes.

The kothu parotta is a very popular street food in South India. The parotta which is served at restaurants is usualy made from maida flour. But we are going to make this kothu parotta recipe using wheat flour. So its very healthy and tasty. I have used eggs for this recipe. So vegetarians, you can skip the egg in this recipe. Instead of egg you can add any kurma gravy to this recipe, but with egg its tastes very yummy.
Kothu Chapathi
Ingredients

  • 2 Chapathi
  • 1 piece Cinnamon stick
  • 3 cloves
  • 1/2 tsp Fennel seeds
  • 1 Onion, chopped lengthwise
  • 3 Green Chillies, slit
  • 2 Tomato, medium sized, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Chilly powder
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala
  • 1 tsp pepper powder
  • 2 Eggs
  • Few Curry and Coriander leaves
  • Salt
  • Oil

Method

  • Beat eggs in a bowl and tear or cut the chapathi into small pieces.
  • Heat oil in kadai add cinnamon, cloves and fennel seedsand fry.
  • Add Onions, green chillies and curry leaves and saute till onions turns light brown in colour.
  • Add the chopped tomatoes and saute.
  • Add ginger garlic paste and the spice powders and cook till the raw smell goes off. If needed sprinkle little water to avoid burning.
  • Next add the beaten eggs and mix.
  • Add the chapathi pieces and mix well and cook till the eggs are cooked.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.

Stuffed Cauliflower Chappathi & Award

Ingredients
For Stuffing:
2 Cups Grated Cauliflower
1 Onion
1/2 tsp Chilli Powder
1 tsp Garam Masala
1 or 2 tsp Corriander Powder
1/3 tsp Turmeric Powder
1 tsp Cumin Seeds
Salt
Boil water in a pan. Put the cauliflower florets into it. Leave it for 10 minutes. Drain the water. Place it on a kitchen towel. Grate the Cauliflower. If water is there still place the grated cauliflower on a cloth and squeeze the water.Now mix all the ingredients in a bowl to make a mixture.
For Chappathi:
2 cups Wheat Flour
1 tsp Sugar
1 teaspoon Salt
Water (Enough water to knead Dough)
Mx all the ingredients in a bowl.Knead with water and make soft dough and leave it for 1 hour.

Method
Roll out medium sized small balls out of the dough and make thick rotis. Put some stuffing mixture at he center. Draw the edges towards the center. Roll out the dough gently by dusting with flour. Heat the tawa. Place the chappathi over it. Sprinkle oil on both sides. Cook till it is well done. Now stuffed chappathi is ready.Serve with chutneys or tomato ketchup.

Channa Batura(Chole Puri)


For Batura:
1/2 kg Maida flour
1/2 cup Milk
1/2 cup Curd
1/4 tsp Baking powder or Soda Bicarb
1 tsp Sugar
Oil for deep frying
Salt to taste
Method
Mix together all the above ingredients together. Knead them to make a dough. Keep them aside for 1 hour. Make small balls. Roll out and deep fry it in oil.

For Channa:
2 cups Channa soaked overnight
1 tsp mustard/jeera
2 Onion, chopped
2 Tomatoes, chopped
2 tsp Ginger Garlic paste
2 tsp Chole Masala powder
1 tsp corriander powder
2 tsp Chilli powder
1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
2 tsp Corriander leaves, finely chopped
Method
Soak the channa overnight.
Pressure cook till done.
Take a handful of channa and grind it.
Heat oil in kadai add onion and fry till it becomes golden brown, now add ginger garlic paste and saute till the raw smell goes off.Now add tomato and saute till it blends well. Add chilli powder, chole masala, turmaric powder, corrainder powder and boiled channa and grinded channa. Cook till gravy becomes thick. Garnish with corriander leaves.
