Rava Kichadi Recipe | Semolina - Sooji Kichadi | South Indian Breakfast Recipe | Step By Step Pic + Video Recipe | Mixed Vegetable Upma | Simple and Yummy Recipes

Rava Kichadi - A popular and very common breakfast recipe in Southern India. Rava Khichadi recipe is nothing but a mixed vegetable upma. Rava kichadi a simple and healthy breakfast recipe made with roasted rava and mixed vegetables.

This Rava khichadi is best when served with coconut chutney. Also, it can be served with sugar or jaggery. Having hot rava khichadi with coconut chutney and a hot cup of filter coffee is the best combination and it tastes yumm.

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup Rava / Semolina
  • 1 Onion, chopped,
  • 2 Tomatoes, medium-sized, chopped
  • 3 Green chilies
  • 1 tbsp Bengal gram
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1 tbsp Cashew nuts
  • ½ tbsp finely chopped Ginger
  • Few Curry leaves
  • 2 ½ cup Water
  • ¼ cup chopped Carrot
  • ¼ cup chopped Beans
  • Salt as required
  • ¼ tsp Turmeric powder
  • few Coriander leaves
  • 1 tbsp Ghee
  • 3 tbsp Oil
Method:

  • Heat 3 tbsp oil in a heavy-bottomed kadai/ wok. When hot add Bengal gram and mustard seeds. Allow it to splutter.
  • Next, add cashew nuts and finely chopped ginger and fry.Then add onions, green chilies, curry leaves and saute the onions till it becomes light brown on medium heat.
  • Next, add the tomatoes and cook till it becomes soft.
  • Then add the veggies, salt, turmeric powder and cook for 5 mins on medium heat.
  • Next, add the Rava and roast for 5 mins on low heat.
  • Keep the flame low and add hot water. Stir Continuously. Mix well to avoid lumps.
  • Cover and cook for 3 mins on low heat.
  • After 3 mins open the lid and add coriander leaves, ghee, and mix well.
  • Cover and keep aside for 10 mins and then serve.

Chicken chops recipe - Are you looking for a chicken recipe that goes well with rice as well as rotis. Then try this chicken chops recipe. This recipe is a South Indian-style coconut-based chicken recipe. This recipe is too simple to prepare and yet tasty too.

This recipe pairs well with white rice, roti, dosa, parathas, naan. But I like to have this with ghee rice. I love this Ghee rice and chicken chops combo. A perfect side dish for ghee rice.

Ingredients
  • ½ kg - Chicken pieces
  • 1 cup - Shallots
  • 1 ½ tsp Fennel seeds
  • 1 tbsp - Ginger Garlic paste
  • 1 large Tomato, chopped
  • ⅓ cup - Coconut pieces
  • 1 tsp - Red Chili powder
  • 2 tsp - Coriander powder
  • ¼ tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp - Pepper powder
  • 2 - Green Chilies
  • Few Curry leaves
  • 3 tbsp - Oil
  • Salt as required
Method
  • Place coconut, fennel seeds, green chilies in a mixie jar. Grind to a smooth paste by adding a little water and keep aside.
  • Heat oil in a heavy-bottomed pan or kadai, when hot add fennel seeds allow it to splutter. Then add the shallots, few curry leaves and saute the onions until it turns soft and pink.
  • Next, add the ginger garlic paste and mix well. Saute till the onion turns golden brown on medium heat.
  • Then add tomatoes and a little salt. Mix well and saute till the tomatoes become soft and mushy.
  • Next, add chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder. Mix well and saute for 2 mins on low heat.
  • Then add ¼ cup of water and mix well Cook for 3 mins on medium heat.
  • Next, add the chicken pieces and mix well. Add ½ cup of water, salt as required and mix well. Then cover and cook for 5 mins on high heat.
  • After 5 mins open the lid and give a good mix. Again cover the cook for 10 mins on medium heat.
  • Then after 10 mins open the lid and give a good mix. Now add the ground paste and mix well. Next, add pepper powder and combine well with the mixture. Cook for 3 mins on medium heat.
  • Add ½ cup of water and mix well. Cook for 5 mins on low heat. Finally, add some curry leaves and coriander leaves and mix well.
  • Switch off the flame and serve hot with ghee rice and roti.

Creamy Garlic Mushroom Pasta | Mushroom Pasta | Step By Step Pics + Video Recipe | Quick & Easy Mushroom Pasta | Simple and Yummy Recipes

Creamy garlic mushroom pasta is a simple pasta recipe that is perfect for a weeknight dinner recipe. With very simple ingredients this pasta recipe can be made in no time. Trust me this creamy mushroom pasta is seriously addictive.


You can use any kind of pasta you like. It can be easily customized with whatever vegetables you have in your pantry. Even you can a little red wine to the recipe for that extra zing but you can omit it too.

Preparation time: 10 mins
Cooking time: 20 mins
Serves: 2

Ingredients
  • 150 gms Pasta
  • 200 gms Mushroom, chopped
  • 1 large Onion, sliced
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped Garlic
  • ½ cup Cream
  • ½ cup Water
  • 2 or 3 Cheese cubes
  • 1 tbsp Butter
  • 2 to 3 tsp Pepper powder
  • 3 tbsp Oil
  • Salt as required
  • Few chopped Parsley or Coriander leaves
Method:
  • Bring 3 liters of water to a rolling boil. Add 1 tsp salt and tbsp ½ oil to it and mix well. Add pasta to it and cook the pasta according to the package instructions. Once the pasta is cooked drain the water through a sieve and wash it under cold water. Toss the pasta with ½ oil and keep aside.
  • Heat 1 tbsp oil in a wide pan, add the chopped mushrooms to it. Then add ½ tsp salt and 1 tsp pepper powder and saute the mushrooms for 6 to 7 mins on medium heat. Cook until golden brown and softened. When cooked, transfer the mushroom to a plate and keep it aside.
  • Heat 1 tbsp oil in the same pan, when hot enough add the onions, ¼ tsp salt, and saute till it becomes light brown in color. Next, add the garlic and saute for 2 mins on medium heat.
  • Then add the butter and the sauteed mushrooms. Mix well and saute on medium heat for 2 mins.
  • Next, add the cream and water to the mushrooms and mix well. Cook for a min on medium heat.
  • Then add the cooked pasta and toss well with the mushroom mixture. Add pepper powder and salt as required and give a good mix.
  • Then switch off the flame and grate cheese cubes as per your liking. Mix well to combine. Finally, add the chopped coriander leaves or parsley to it and serve hot.

Chilli Fish Recipe | Restaurant Style Chilli Fish Recipe | Fish Manchurian |Simple and Yummy Recipes

Chili Fish is a popular Indo-Chinese recipe made by tossing boneless pieces of fish in the spicy chili sauce. It can be served as an appetizer or side dish for noodles and fried rice. It is a perfect appetizer for dinner party recipes.

For making this chili fish recipe, make sure to use only boneless fish pieces which are cut into medium-sized cubes. Any boneless fish can be used for this recipe.

Serves: 2-3

Ingredients:

  • 300 gms Boneless Fish (cut into cubes)
  • 1 Onion ( cut into petals )
  • 1 Capsicum ( cut into cubes )
  • 1 tbsp Garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tbsp Ginger, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Pepper powder
  • Salt as required
  • 1 tbsp Salt
  • Oil for deep frying
  • few chopped Spring Onion
Batter to coat fish
  • 1 tsp Lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Red chili powder
  • 1 tsp Pepper powder
  • 1 tbsp All-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Cornflour
  • 1 tsp Ginger Garlic paste
  • Egg white from 1 egg
Sauce mix
  • 2 tbsp Soysauce
  • 1 tbsp Red chili sauce
  • 1/2 tbsp Tomato sauce
  • 1 tbsp Chilli Vinegar
Cornflour Slurry
  • 1 tbsp Cornflour
  • 1 tbsp Water

Method
Step 1: To make Sauce mix
  • In a small bowl mix together all the sauces -soy sauce, red chili sauce, tomato sauce, and chili vinegar. Keep aside.
Step 2: Batter Coating the fish
  • Place the boneless fish cubes in a large bowl. Add salt and lemon. Mix well. Keep aside and let it marinate for 15 mins.
  • After 15 mins, add cornflour, maida flour, ginger garlic paste, red chili powder, pepper powder, and egg white from 1 egg to the fish. Mix well to coat the batter well with the fish.
Step 3: Deep frying the Fish
  • Heat oil in kadai or pan for frying the fish. When the oil is medium hot, drop the fish pieces one by one and fry them in batches until crisp and done. Once the fish is fried, remove it to a plate plated with the tissue.
Step 4: Making Chili Fish / Fish Manchurian
  • Heat 1 tbsp oil in a wide pan, when hot add chopped garlic, ginger, and green chilies, and stir fry for 15 secs on high heat.
  • Next, add the onion petals and stir fry for 15 secs on high heat. Then add capsicum pieces, salt, and stir fry for 30 secs on high heat.
  • Then pour the sauce mix and 2 tbsp of water and mix well. stir fry for 1 min on high heat.
  • Make cornflour slurry by mixing cornflour and water and immediately add this slurry to the onion, capsicum sauce mixture and mix well.
  • Next, add the fried fish cubes to the pan and toss well with the mixture. Toss well to coat with the sauce and stirfry for 2 min on high heat.
  • Add salt and pepper powder as required and mix well. Garnish with some chopped spring onion and serve hot.
