Sanjeev Kapoor's Jeera Aloo


Jeera Aloo


Ingredients
  • Baby Potato - 1/4 kg, parboiled and halved
  • Cumin Seeds - 2 tbsp
  • Grated Coconut - 1 1/2 tbsp
  • Green Chillies, slit - 2
  • Sugar- 1 tsp
  • Lemon Juice - 1 tbsp
  • Coriander Leaves - few, chopped
  • Curry Leaves - few
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil - 1 tbsp
Jeera Aloo
Method
  • Heat oil in a wok, add cumin seeds, curry leaves, green chillies and saute.
  • Then add potatoes and salt. Cover and cook over medium heat till the potatoes are completely done and lightly browned.
  • Add sugar, lemon juice, coriander leaves and coconut. Toss well to mix and serve hot with rice.

the lemon juice and sugar are extra additions from my way of making this. must have added that extra punch to the dish!
